The Best TV of 2011

6. "Competitive Ecology" (Community)

Troy and Britta are drawn to each other when their biology class has to partner up for a terrarium-building project. Meanwhile, Senor Chang is featured in a stupid subplot in which he believes that he's in a detective story. And Dean Pelton's harassment of Jeff continues.

5. "Documentary Filmmaking: Redux"(Community)

Troy and Britta blush when they hug for a commercial to promote Greendale. Later, they have an extended hug.

4. ThunderCats

The popular 80s cartoon is updated with better animation and a more sophisticated story.

3. "Remedial Chaos Theory" (Community)

Troy and Britta bond at his housewarming party. Pierce, on the other hand, tries to terrorize Troy.

2. "Foosball and Nocturnal Vigilantism" (Community)

Annie accidentally breaks Abed's special edition $299 Dark Knight DVD and refuses to fess up.

1. X-Men

Following Jean Grey's death, Logan, Scott Summers, Hank McCoy and Ororo Munroe travel to Japan in order to investigate a rash of disappearances of children suspected of carrying the X-gene. There they encounter powerful telepath Emma Frost, who'd also been abducted, and the group responsible for the kidnappings: the fanatical U-Men and their employer, Dr. Yui Sasaki. The cyborg terrorist group has been conducting experiments on mutants in order to further their own agenda. Cameos by Archangel, Iron Man and Captain Britain add a nice touch as well.

Marvel's superpowered mutants have been featured in several television shows, both animated and live-action, through the years. Because the filmmakers treated the source material with respect, this 2011 series, rendered with anime visuals, puts all the others to shame.
