If you want to watch a film that's intense and keeps you on the edge-of-your seat, ‘Hotel Mumbai’ is the one for you. I'm still scratching my head over why this one didn't do well at theaters when it was released, as it's a very well-made thriller.
The movie is based on true events that took place in Mumbai, India, in 2008 when a terrorist group staged and executed attacks in various parts of the city, including the Taj Hotel. The story follows the tragic events that took place and what the staff and hotel guests did to survive that horrific event. The film is stunning in how it plays out what happens and what people went through. The fact that it's something that really happened makes it all the more horrific. How anyone lived through it is beyond me and to see, during the credits, the survivors reunite at the hotel a year later, is amazing.
Great acting, an amazing story and a strong cast make for an intense and excellent film. Definitely a must watch!
