If you love shows or films about true life crimes, then you have to watch ‘The Investigation’ on HBO Max. An absolutely riveting and well done production regarding the disappearance and murder of real life journalist Kim Wall. I hadn't ever heard of the story and the sad thing is that even though I knew the outcome, I kept hoping and wishing somehow she would be found and be ok, especially for the parents. What a horrible, heartbreaking trauma her family had to go through.
This is an excellent show that follows the detectives and the massive number of resources and man-hours they used to try and figure out what happened to Ms. Wall. It was also frustrating to watch at times, as no matter how many things the police found or evidence they were able to identify, because they had no actual proof of the crime, the case just lingered on and on and on.
The cast in this show is excellent and I loved the lead character in the show, Detective Jens Moller, played by Soren Malling. This is a Danish drama and is in subtitles but it doesn't matter. It hooks you right in from the beginning. The painstaking actions by all involved to solve the crime and find justice will just keep you intrigued. Great drama!
