Does anyone remember the beloved (well, not necessarily by me, but people did love it) television series, ‘Murder She Wrote’ with Angela Lansbury? Well, think of a modern day true crime investigator who has her own podcast (with the star being the excellent Octavia Spencer) and goes by the name of Poppy Parnell. The series is on Apple TV + and is called ‘Truth Be Told.’ I might have already mentioned this show in a previous post but season 2 of this great show just ended and it's so good. Yes, some moments might seem a little ‘campy’ or ‘cheesy’ but Spencer does such a great job in her role and so many others are good as well. The cast includes Mekhi Phifer, Ron Cephas Jones, Michael Beach and Katherine LaNasa. This season guest starred Kate Hudson as Micah Keith, Parnell’s best friend growing up. Hudson and Spencer really play well opposite each other in the series as they try to figure out who murdered Hudson’s husband. Very good crime series!
