‘American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story’ is a well done movie based on the football start/career of the NFL football legend. I almost didn't recognize Zachary Levi, probably most well known as the lead in the television series, ‘Chuck’, in the title role. He gives a great performance and I expect this will only help further his career in terms of other film roles. I also didn't recognize at first the woman who played Kurt’s wife, Brenda. Anna Paquin stars as the lady who catches his eye early on and, although I'm personally not a fan, I have to say she also did a great job as well. Together they both had really good chemistry and you couldn't help but cheer them on, through the good and bad that they each endured, both individually and as a couple. The rest of the cast also did a good job, including Dennis Quaid, who portrayed the St. Louis Rams' coach and inspired Warner to do his best. As any follower of Warner knows, he would go on to become a two-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl champion, and Hall of Fame quarterback. This is a definitely moving and inspirational film that focuses on never giving up and always following your dreams.
