How Killmonger Can Appear in a "Black Panther" Sequel

Black Panther "villain" Erik "Killmonger" Stevens is a fan-favorite whose death at the end of the movie, though the most poignant of the MCU, left many disappointed and wanting to see more of him. While he was ultimately defeated, the former Navy SEAL did succeed in claiming the Wakandan throne as well as the mantle of Black Panther. As such, Killmonger likely ascended to the spirit plane, or Djalia, seen when T'Challa spoke to his late father, King T'Chaka. T'Chaka and T'Challa, however, weren't alone. Several deceased Black Panthers, initially appearing as actual panthers, were on hand as well. It stands to reason that Killmonger is now one of the panthers lounging in the tree that T'Challa approaches. And since Thanos' snap killed him, T'Challa is likely a spirit plane resident as well.

The problem is -- T'Chaka killed Killmonger's father. And Killmonger knows it. Plus, T'Challa's the one who killed Killmonger. So it's hard to imagine the vibes being very peaceful in the Wakandan afterlife. But even so, this clusterf#ck does provide a convenient avenue for bringing Killmonger back in some future Black Panther sequel -- even it it's only in the form of the MCU's version of a Force-ghost.
