The 2019 Oscar Nominations Are In

Black Panther pulled 7 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture -- making it the first comicbook/superhero movie to do so. And after 33 years in the business, legendary director Spike Lee scooped his first nomination for Best Director. However, period drama The Favorite and Netflix's Roma lead the pack with 10 nominations each. The winnners'll be announced live on television on February 24. But after the Kevin Hart hosting fiasco, I'm still not sure whether or not I'll watch. Check out the nominees below:

  1. Ok, well while I agree with some of the Oscar nominees in the various categories, there are some definite snubs that I just can’t overlook. I am sorry but I am absolutely stunned that Bradley Cooper did not get a nom for best director..he only directed one of the most talked about films of the year outside of Black Panther and it received several other noms including Best Actor. So how does he do this and yet doesn’t get a director nom and yet the director of ‘Vice’ does? Who has even seen that film? Also, Viggo Mortenson is nominated for Best Actor for ‘Green Book’ but Mahershala Ali is nominated for Best Supporting actor? What about Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler? What about Sam Elliott for ‘A Star is Born?’What about some love for ‘Crazy Rich Asians?’ There are others but these are the obvious and questionable snubs to me!
